What if we got to new know people by cocreating with them instead of judging them on first impressions?
Genesis

Hi. I’m a man named Brooke Allen. In 2014, after retiring from the work world, I gave myself a mission: “To earn the gratitude of future generations.”
Ten years later, my life changed abruptly when my marriage ended. I tried online dating and found the experience dispiriting—more like a series of job interviews from hell than a way to get to know another human being.
So I changed my profile. Instead of looking primarily for romance, I said I wanted to meet people interested in cocreating things of value to others.
Cathy contacted me almost immediately. On our second date, I decided I wanted to change how dating is done and bought CoCreateDate.com. She decided to write and produce a musical about our meeting.
Over the next year, she did exactly that while I pursued other creative projects.
Now, in the fall of 2026, I’m turning my attention to CoCreateDate.com—not as a dating service, but as an experiment in a different way of meeting people, sharing what we learn, and helping others try it for themselves. And, not just for singles.
You can learn more about our creation story on our About page, and more about me at BrookeAllen.com.

A Call to action: Will you help us CoCreate CoCreateDate.com?
CoCreateDate is still being invented.
I’m looking for people of all ages, backgrounds, relationship statuses, and skill sets who are interested in helping shape what this idea becomes.
That might mean:
- helping define the philosophy and language,
- designing or building the website,
- creating graphics, writing, music, video, or other media,
- researching what helps people form meaningful connections,
- experimenting with CoCreate Dates in the real world,
- developing etiquette and best practices,
- finding ways to introduce the idea in workplaces, libraries, maker spaces, schools, communities, and online,
- or simply trying it and telling us what worked, what didn’t, and what you would change.
You do not need to be single.
You do not need to be looking for romance.
You do not need to be an expert in anything.
You only need to be curious about whether people might get to know one another better by creating alongside each other instead of evaluating each other from across the table.
Bring an idea. Bring a skill. Bring a question. Bring a criticism. Bring yourself.
Let’s work on creating CoCreateDate together.

Online dating doesn’t have to suck…I promise! I met my husband in an AOL Chat Room over 30 years ago, and while we didn’t really have “online dating” then, we like to consider ourselves the first internet couple. After all, how many people even had the internet in 1995? LOL! Also, my son and his wife met on an app 5 years ago 😊
